Job Summary
The Logistics Officer will coordinate and manage the transportation, procurement, and delivery of construction materials and equipment. This role is critical in ensuring that all logistics operations support the timely and cost-effective completion of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations across various construction projects.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on logistics activities, costs, and operational efficiency.
- Track movement of trucks and materials; report any delays or discrepancies
- Optimize routes and transport schedules to enhance efficiency and minimize costs
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety of logistics equipment and vehicles
- Oversee and approve truck fuel usage; maintain accurate fuel and logistics approval records
- Remain active in official WhatsApp groups for real-time updates and coordination
- Monitor truck conditions daily and share status updates in designated WhatsApp groups
- Remain flexible and ready to work in different project locations as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Applicants residing in Mwanza will be given priority
