Yoga Instructor Job Description

We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Yoga Instructor to lead energizing, safe, and inclusive yoga classes at our studio. Our ideal candidate is someone who understands that yoga is more than just movement—it’s a path to holistic well-being.

You’ll guide students through physical postures, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices, while creating a supportive and welcoming space for everyone, regardless of experience level.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a strong personal practice, a desire to inspire others, and the proper certification!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teach scheduled group and/or private yoga classes using safe, practical techniques and instruction
  • Create and follow lesson plans tailored to the level and needs of your students
  • Greet students warmly, answer questions, and offer modifications to support different abilities
  • Demonstrate proper form and breathing techniques during class
  • Share your knowledge of yoga philosophy and lifestyle to enrich the student experience
  • Help maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and ambiance
  • Coordinate with other instructors and studio staff to support events and promotions
  • Participate in workshops, special classes, or community events when needed
  • Keep track of attendance, student progress, and client feedback
  • Assist in studio marketing efforts, including social media posts or class announcements

What We’re Looking For

  • 200-Hour (or higher) Yoga Teacher Training Certification from a recognized school (Yoga Alliance preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching group yoga classes
  • Strong knowledge of asanas, sequencing, breathwork (pranayama), and safe adjustments
  • Ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and fitness levels
  • Comfortable with in-person and/or virtual instruction
  • Passion for wellness, mindfulness, and helping others feel their best
  • Friendly, dependable, and professional attitude

Bonus If You Have

  • Certification in specialized yoga styles (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Prenatal, Kundalini, etc.)
  • Background in personal training, massage therapy, or holistic health
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Experience leading workshops, retreats, or teacher training programs
