Position Details
- Position Title: Finance Officer (2 Positions)
- Job Location: Dar es Salaam, Country Office

Purpose of the Role
The Finance Officer will oversee the organization’s financial and administrative functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, and logistical support. The role requires sound knowledge of donor compliance, internal controls, and statutory financial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and generate timely reports.
- Input financial data and manage accounts for projects and organizational operations.
- Review field transactions and support area accountants in compliance and reporting.
- Support the budgeting process and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with donor-approved budgets.
- Prepare documentation and coordinate internal, external, and donor audits.
- Supervise physical branches and verify program activity reports.
- Provide financial insight during proposal development and policy planning.
- Monitor compliance with organizational accounting procedures and donor regulations.
- Ensure timely accountability for IOUs and related employee transactions.
- Conduct training and orientation for staff on financial procedures and cost control.
- Contribute to procurement and administrative functions as needed.
- Support change initiatives and uphold financial integrity across departments.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold BRAC’s safeguarding policies and standards.
- Create a safe and respectful working environment for all staff and stakeholders.
- Actively support the reporting and resolution of any safeguarding concerns.
- Encourage a culture of accountability and ethical conduct within teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in finance, procurement, and administration.
- Proven ability to develop and analyze budgets and financial reports.
- Strong understanding of donor reporting requirements.
- Prior experience in logistics and field activity verification.
- Familiarity with proposal writing and business planning is a plus.
