Special consideration is given to students whose studies directly relate to AfDB’s core mission and strategic focus.
Internship Terms and Conditions
- Duration: Minimum 3 months, maximum 6 months
- Location: On-site at AfDB HQ in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, or remote depending on the unit’s needs
- Start Date: July 2025
- Stipend: Monthly stipend provided
- Insurance: Medical insurance coverage provided by the Bank
- Travel Costs: On-site interns are responsible for their own travel and living expenses
- Equipment: Remote interns must have access to a computer, stable internet, and a suitable working environment
- Visa Assistance: AfDB will provide reasonable support in obtaining visas for selected interns
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be nationals of an AfDB member country
- Be aged 18 to 30 years by the internship start date (25 years for undergraduate students in some cases)
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program or have graduated within the past year
- Provide a letter from their university confirming enrollment or a copy of their degree
- Be fluent in English or French (working languages of the Bank)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of SAP is an asset
