We’re seeking compassionate, energetic, and dependable Youth Counselors to join our team. In this role, you’ll work directly with young people ages 5–18, helping them grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
From homework help and group activities to conflict resolution and life skills coaching, you’ll be a positive role model and an essential part of their support system. If you love working with kids and want to make a real impact, this could be your job.
What You’ll Do
Daily Support & Supervision
- Build strong, supportive relationships with youth in your care.
- Supervise daily routines and ensure a safe, respectful environment.
- Lead recreational, educational, and enrichment activities, including sports, arts, and field trips.
- Be a role model in communication, cooperation, and problem-solving.
Counseling & Development
- Provide individual and group counseling for youth facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Support kids in developing life skills like emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
- Create intervention or support plans for youth who need extra guidance.
- Collaborate with families to strengthen support at home and in the community.
Program Planning & Management
- Helped design and lead educational programs aligned with age-level standards and youth interests.
- Prepare classroom or group materials, and assist with maintaining program supplies and spaces.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance and progress reports.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and team planning.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with youth in an educational, counseling, or recreational setting.
- A background in education, psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- A good understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Skills in mentoring, teaching, and leading small and large groups.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and follow safety protocols.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with at-risk or underserved youth populations.
- Comfortable leading both indoor and outdoor activities.
