We’re seeking a caring, proactive, and community-minded Youth Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll work directly with young people—especially those facing social, educational, or emotional challenges—to help them set goals, access resources, and develop the skills they need to thrive.
Whether you plan enrichment programs, offer one-on-one support, or collaborate with families and schools, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to empower youth in meaningful ways.
What You’ll Be Doing
Youth Support & Engagement
- Build strong, supportive relationships with youth and their families.
- Provide case management and help young people navigate services related to education, mental health, career development, and life skills.
- Design and lead engaging programs focused on personal growth, academic success, environmental awareness, and community service.
- Supervise, motivate, and mentor youth in both structured and informal settings.
Program Development & Leadership
- Planned and implemented youth programming such as mentoring initiatives, service-learning projects, career exploration activities, and college readiness workshops.
- Oversee day-to-day program operations and make sure all activities align with organizational goals and community needs.
- Identify and remove barriers that may prevent youth from participating fully in programs.
Community & Team Collaboration
- Develop partnerships with schools, community organizations, donors, and volunteers.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and promotional activities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers involved in youth programming.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, finances, and participant progress.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with youth, particularly at-risk or underserved populations.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, substance abuse recovery, or behavioral health is a plus.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles and culturally responsive programming.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable leading group activities, mentoring youth, and facilitating workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing community partnerships or leading volunteer teams.
- Background in case management, school-based support, or nonprofit program coordination.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
