Zookeeper Job Description

We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable Zookeeper to join our animal care team. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Animal Care & Welfare

  • Maintain accurate records of feeding schedules, behaviors, health conditions, and treatments.
  • Submit reports on animal births, illnesses, deaths, and behavioral changes.
  • Conducted daily and weekly inspections of enclosures and reported maintenance needs.

Training & Collaboration

  • Train and mentor new staff and junior keepers on proper animal care protocols.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, researchers, and other zoo personnel.
  • Assist in designing and adjusting enclosures to reflect the behavioral needs of animals.

Education & Outreach

  • Interact with zoo visitors to educate them about animal species, conservation efforts, and responsible wildlife interaction.

Requirements and Skills
